It is rather popular presently,can be used for dress lining.Usual weight is 9m/m,12m/m,14m/m,16m/m.Usual width is 140cm.

3.SILK FABRIC PROPERTIES AND USES 

Silk fabric has many distinct properties,such as comfortable feeling,thermal resistant,breathable,uvioresistant,heat retention,noise-absorbent,dust-absorbent,antistatic.It is often used for clothing such as shirts, ties, blouses, formal dresses(eg.cheongsam dress),high fashion clothes, lingerie, pyjamas, robes, dress suits, sun dresses and Eastern folk costumes. Silk's attractive lustre and drape makes it suitable for many furnishing applications. It is used for upholstery, wall coverings, window treatments (if blended with another fiber), rugs, bedding and wall hangings. 

Mommes (mm) are units of weight traditionally used to measure the density of silk.1M/M=4.3056G.The thicker silk fabric becomes if momme value is higher.

Most silk fabrics are easily crinkled.Silk fabric has a properity of shrinkage,so it should be washed under 30°C before garment construction.There is almost no gradual shrinkage nor shrinkage after washing procedure.Line dry the washed fabric in shade,no overlapping.Do not soak silk fabric,this is very important.
